I would probably make it to Palm Springs and then turn right back around lol. That's a long trip make sure u plan out stops because there is stretches on the 10frw. that go 30-40 miles without a gas station.

4 hours and 20 mins from Diamond Bar, Ca to Scottsdale, Az; depending on how long your gas stops are, of which there will be three. I've done that trip at least 4 times on my bike. It sucks donkey balls, but is a hell of a lot cheaper than diving my truck.

I've done that trip about 25 times in cars, trucks, a tour van, tour bus, and RV. It sucks period. If I had my ZX14... no problem. But not gettin' my ass to ride in a straight line for 8 hours on a 600... hahahaha...

I'd do it if I had a Concourse, but no way in hell I would do it in a 600.

But not gettin' my ass to ride in a straight line for 8 hours on a 600... hahahaha... | My SOP was to leave straight from work Friday at 4, get to phoenix around 9:30 then hang out for another few hours until I passed out. Next day I would sleep in, then ride around town in the afternoon to hangout with people. Sunday was either sleeping in again, or getting up at 8 to go ride my favorite route and then head back for LA no later than 7:30, get home around 1am, pass out, and then get up and ride to work the next day... And I wonder why my right should is in a perpetual sate of "cramped and sore." lol
It's worse if you ride to Phoenix from Bakersfield; that's closer to 8 hours and you have to do some twisties towards the end when you're so sore and stiff you don't want to move.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna buy a sport tourer, b/c I like doing long road trips on the bike. Now I just need to decide which one... the Z750 perhaps.
