180 vs 190

hey guys. in my area i see alot of guys with ZX6R switching from 180 size tire to a 190 size tire(rear tire). i know it looks cool. but other than that i have know clue what else it will do. here is what i want to do to my bike.
-louder exhaust(nothing to loud, just enough to sound good)
-HID headlight
-fender eliminato kit(done)
-double buble
and i just wanna ride it as a commuter and some what stunt. (wheelies and stoppies nothing major)
thanks in advance

may be a good idea the 190 for what you will use your bike, the 180 give better handling but for commuting i think 190 looks great

190/50 is the worst profile of any tire ever made.

I second that, when I bought my bike it had a set of Metzlers with a 190/50 on the rear. it was way to wide and short, it had no contact patch what so ever, and I had to fight to keep it side ways. I recently went back to the stock size 180/55 with the pilot power 2ct's and I have fell in love with my bike all over again. Im not sure about the 190/55's but I know I like what i have now.

I agree with rrkiller, not only does it handle like crap, it is also unsafe to try and cram 10mm more width on a rim designed for 180mm. I don't think I would want to even think about tire failure at 150mph+

From the diagram you can see the 180/55 and 190/55 are very similar and when used with 120/70 front is great, last 3 sets have been this 190/55 and 120/70 and it raises the bike a little so you can lean further without anything touching.

if you mean width it's because we have 6" wide rims. the 600's have 5.5" wide rims

if you mean the 190/50, the 190/55 was uber expensive until 2 years ago, and all of the manufacturers are switching over slowly to the 190/55. i think most of them come with a 55 series tire now. in 10 years the 190/50 will be pretty much extinct

if i do get a 190 its gonna be 190/55. so its got the same hieght as the stock rear tires. thanks guys. Now if i may ask another question. I did my 600miles oil change not to long ago. ask the dealership about oil change schedule and i got different answers. so i figure why not ask you guys. So 1st oil change is 600miles whats next and what is regular

a 190/55 will be much taller. the 190 series tires are made for 6" rims, you have a 5.5" rim. not only will it distort the sidewall, you have no reason for a 190 on a 600. a 180 is cheaper and they are just as good

if you put a 190/55 on there, you better drop the front one tooth or raise the back 2 teeth just to keep about the same rpm

because they have a wider wheel so the tire fits properly. And the 1000 need the xtra contact patch

check the file vault, you will find your bikes manual, there you will find that and MANY answers, i think is like the 05, the first change is 600 next one is 4k, next 7.5k miles, but check the manual, you will use it, and for sure the next question is about oil, mi vote for motul 5100 (did i guessed??)
