Blew a Headgasket yesterday..

...and I'm bored waiting on parts from ronanyers. So now I'm painting my frame!
Anyways, what's up everyone? Kinda high on paint fumes but I'm feelin' pretty good! Sucks this happened at the beginning of the season right after I sold my gixxer, but this beast will be back on the road in no time! Pics to come when there's more light, and I get the wheels on the frame in the morning. Woot

It's an orange 04 that I just picked up. As much as I love the orange, the paint is too expensive. So It's going to be all black soon. Waiting on the first coat of clear to dry

BEFORE YOU PAINT IT! I know a guy with a black 04 and he just happens to absolutely LOVE orange...

Setp one: Obtain 5-8 squares of clean, dry toilet paper.
Setp two: some prefer to neatly fold while others prefer the "wad" technique, but you need to condense the squares into a thicker unit of TP.

...do I really need to continue?

What color are you painting your frame?

Let's see some pics while you're waiting for your Ron Ayers order to show up!

Until Kawasaki releases a ZX-8R, I'm riding a ZX-6R.

The bike was layed down before I got it, so all the plastics are pretty much useless. There are some ghetto mounts for the headlight, so I'll be needing a fairing stay or ram air tube. Not sure which is needed to mount it up on this bike.

That's my old gixxer in the pics btw. I'll get more pics when I get it assembled more.

Also, anyone interested in a headgasket/valve adjustment how to? I'm new to paint, but I've built many motors as I work in the field.

looking good there mate! Cant wait to see it all done.
I just completed mine as well, went from black to a metallic green and black. Bike feels like its been in bits for ages. Hope you get it all sorted and on the road as soon as.

Cheers,
T

I hear that. I'm so eager to get this thing together. I'm painting all the plastics now. I'm almost done with that, I'm not sure what to do to pass the time now.

The valve adjustment is really easy. With a caliper or micrometer, a set of feeler gauges and some patients of course. Total work time would only be a couple of hours, it's getting the right shims that can suck.

Hey nexia, I just noticed your fairings. Are those ebay plastics? if so, hows the quality? I thinking about getting a cowl and fairings from there. I've seen a set with about the same design on there

I've got the Ebay "Delkovic" plastics on my bike. You can order them bare also. That's what I did. I know someone that ordered the kit painted & the paint is very thin. The entire kit is great except for the lowers.. the plastic is a bit thinner than the factory lowers.
