I've seen that guy over on another forum.

Yea thats a pretty sweet set up. But not for a 600. 1000s and up get turbos.

We get good suspension and rip up the road course. Straight line racing requires minimal skill

My buddies would be able to do this to my bike in one nite I would say.. I think the homeade header would be by far the hardest to do..

Thats funny cause rite before I saw this thread I called a place called squires turbo systems. A while ago they had put put together a bolt on turbo kit for a 2006 cbr 600. They said it was faster that the R1 around the track. They tested it for a while but the kit never went into production. I can ask them if they would be interested in using my bike as a test bike to mock up a kit for our bikes. If they would be interested in doing this who would be interested in buying a bolt on kit at a fair price? What do you guys think is a fair price for a bolt on kit?

Don't be too sure about that. I've seen other turbo 600's posting up their hp numbers and they're still shy of a stock liter bike. So given that a liter bike makes way more torque and hp, and weigh the same, even with a turbo you'd at best be right with a liter bike, but surpass one on a track only if the other rider is less skilled. A turbo 600 vs a modded liter (sprockets, PC, etc) I still believe you'd be behind. Now all this is based on what I've seen online as far as those who actually have dyno sheets for their turbo bikes, and then doing a simple comparison with numbers I see for liter bikes. I think a turbo setup would be pretty sweet though, but I doubt I'd ever buy one.

i love the idea but power delivery would screw you in the twisties. imo it turns a good handling bike into a highway/drag bike. now dont get me wrong i still wanna do one really bad

only thing keepin me from doin it is just cost. i could turbo a car for cheaper than turbo'n a bike simply due to engine management and turbo size, turbos small enough to be used on a bike are not as plentiful in the junkyard as one for say a car or truck
