I have a 2011 ZX6r and the previous owner had an HID kit installed and also some green, I'm assuming LED city lights. I want the headlights to be more of the pure white light as opposed to the more bluish tint that they currently have. Is it just as simple as replacing it with say, a 5000k bulb. And, regarding the city lights, the one on the clutch side either does not light completely or not at all. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?
Here's a pic of the light I'm referring to...
And here's a pic of the bike...

It depends if your bulb is interchangeable but yes, that would change the tint of color it shines.. Look at this chart. |

I think u should go with 8000k at 55 watts ( the reason why i said 55 watts is that they are extremely bright and white and they are the brightest hids u could get) they just show a very little bit of blue in them

How can I determine what is in there now? I think they look great, but I just want the brightest beam and from what I understand, I would get that with a bulb that shines pure white. Would 8000k be too blue? I was under the impression that 4-5k would give the highest output? Also, anybody know about the little lights above the headlights and where can I purchase HID bulbs? Thanks!

The lower the number, the brighter the beam & it will be less blue. I have 6000k in my bike & truck. Some blue, bright as hell. Haven't tried the 4300K. As for the city lights there's a thread on here I believe in the pics section where a guy changed his to green. Superbrightleds.com is one place to look.

Thank you all for your help! I've just been doing some researching and think I'm either going to go with 4300k or 5000k. Now on to another stupid question... How exactly do I go about removing the bulb that is in there now? I don't see any obvious removable connector. My dumb ass tried pulling the glass portion out and cracked the piece that runs along the side of the bulb! |

Follow the wires and it should plug into a connector. When you buy HID's they come with a small length of wire that connects to the harness
EDIT: don't ever ever ever touch the glass on HID bulbs. The oil from your skin can damage and cause them to burn out!!!!

I guess I'll have to remove a panel or two because that connector is hidden out of the way. I already did touch the bulb, but it doesn't matter since i broke that one piece and have to get a new one anyways. The factory specifies a 65w H9 bulb for the clutch side and a 55w H11 bulb for the brake side. Am I correct in assuming that when I buy HID replacements that my only options are either a 35w or 55w? If so, should I go 55w for both sides?
And thanks LaneSplitter for the compliment!

And thanks LaneSplitter for the compliment! | I bought my HID's from DDM tuning which your only options are 35w or 55w. I have 6k 35W and they are still much brighter than stock. I've had two bikes riding on either side of me and they made me go in the middle because my lights overpowered both of theres combined. I've heard that some people have issues with heat with 55W on certain bikes due do the housing. I don't think it's a common issue with ZXs though
