Yes, it will be like having two high-beams. You'll be going from 1350 lumens to 2100+ lumens in your low-beam just from doing this five minute mod. Don't worry, the low-beam still remains properly angled so even though you're running the H9 bulb you won't blind other drivers. Real simple to do. I used a set of needle files and a small flush cutter.

To do the HID swap for a 09+ model 6r, you will need to get two single bulb HID kits. You can get either 35w or 55w. You will need a H9 and a H11 HID kit to make things plug and play. Otherwise, you will have to do a lot of wire cutting and bulb/housing modification to make things work.

See my post regarding your question in the other thread. And, contrary to what the above poster mentioned... NO YOU DON'T need to buy two seperate kits, one for H9 and one for H11. Order one H11 kit.

ok, so why would someone get a HID kit, when you can just run 2 H11s? (like the xenon ones?) I looked at the HID kit mentioned in previous posts, and it come as a dual kit, but doesn't our bikes have 2 different bulbs?

and someone mentioned that you can't flick HIDs off and on? Are they that delicate?

The whole reason behind upgrading to HID's is for looks and the superior visibility they provide. I think you mean H9 instead of H11, because H9 is what is used in the high beam side on the stock halogen setup. Even if you were to run 2 H9's, you still wouldn't get the looks and quality of lighting that you'd get with HID's.
