My rear tire is pretty soft in the very middle and there is a bout a 1/2 strip dead centr where i can see the steel braids coming through
obviously the tire is cooked and done !
My question though is can i ride this thing to get it washed which distance wise iis about 2 miles max and of course 2 miles back
You think i would be stupid to ride this thing even 1 more foot considering ?
Or has anyone else ridden on a tire like this ?
I plan on making this my last ride on the tire if possible ?
Tryin to do this very shortly today though if possible cuz it is warm out ??
Thanx fam !

It's all chance. A buddy of mine rode on a tire like that for a short time but it's hit or miss every time. I'd say just stay off it

Don't do it! Get a new tyre first.

If you can see braids it's any moment it can go. Save the little you have left incase you need to ride to a shop to get a new tire put on.

Yeah it can go flat while you're riding and you won't be able to tell until you try a maneuver and fail...
We both know it's not worth riskin ur bike or ur life over $200

Not to be a dick.......but that tire should have been changed out long ago. Be sure to keep an eye out for those gauge marks on the tire, that's why they are there for.
But to answer your question, ALL depends on how much you like your bike and running on the rims or pushing it home if you ride it further.......just know however that it's a PITA pushing a bike with a flat tire.

And if you like your bike, don't let someone talk you into doing a burnout to blow the tire when about to put on the new one. ALBEIT it's fun, when the tire does let go, those steel cords can do some major damage to your underside. Trust me on that one.....I've done it a few times on my "throw away" bikes. |

I had a rear valve stem blow out @ 70+mph, Instinct deflation. scary!
But the scariest part of all is I had just slowed from over 130mph.
