Good brand of riding shoe.

Good brand of riding shoe.

Thinking of going with a riding shoe. Never was a fan of boots. I have a more wider foot. What do you all recommend?

I didnt want a stiff Boot and ended up getting a pair of ICON superdutys, Im happy with em

@ Ryan, just make sure they're not the SMX1 shoe - they're complete trash.

What's the difference between these Shift hi-tops or any "riding" shoe and a pair of Nike Air Jordans ??
Do these motorcycle gear branded hi-tops have built in protection/carbon/kevlar?
I don't ride street so I've never checked into wearing these.

This will give you a breakdown on the shoe. Just provides more protection that regular hi-tops. And from my experience I wore regular leather Nike boots when I first began riding and the shifter started to wear out the leather in the toe. These riding shoes don't have to worry so much with that.

So SHIFT makes sneakers? Do they offer any real protection?

I'm a boot man myself, That's where the real protection is.
I have heard that a lot of people like the ICON's.
