Damnit.

i was riding my 06 636 today through a few twisties on my way to my buddies. came up on a turn fast, saw pebbles mid turn... rear slipped and lost traction went off road. tried to brake on grass didnt really helped, ended up high siding but bike didnt flip.

here are some pictures> Pictures by pepceee - Photobucket

basically wrecked front fender right side fender bottom fairing brake beg, front break reservoir. cracked air box cover, dented fucking fuel tank.

Going to chill with my buddy who got a dui last night and this happens. sucks ass, maybe going to part out bike for right price, likely getting new fairings and new brake peg. probably new new cluster gauge/headlight assembly as well.

If anyone has any of the parts i need let me know. fucked up because i use my bike to commute.

Safe riding, bullshit is just a turn away.

I don't know if frame is Bent but it doesn't appear to be. no oil leakage. Rode bike after wreck back to garage withOut problems.

Right brake peg
Fairings set
Gas tank
Headlight assembly.
Lot of Work but not beyond repair . Can't believe it

What do y'all think I could get parting it out. Never had to go that route.

Parting out

Frame w/ clean title $1300-1500
Engine-$1000 $1400....Engine as a kit$1400( motor,ecu,harness,air box...etc)
Tail-$100-$200

Maybe another $500 for:
Tail fairing
Forks
Front wheel
Rear wheel
Passenger pillions and the rear set that's good
Triple tree

So part out total of $3000-$4000.... Shit I dunno...and who knows how long it'll take to sell all that shit...
...prob better to fix it up

I was going to say the exact opposite....
Frame-forks-wheels-engine are all there and working.
needs: right rearset, fairing kit and tank repair, headlight, windshield, new frame sliders, front brake reservoir and maybe some bar ends.

I would fix it.
I've seen far worst crashes and seemed repairable, you can get your rearset temporary repaired(will work forever but will be ugly), a front brake reservoir and a headlight and ride it like that until you can afford all the other pieces...
My previous bike had been left with only a good frame(even my engine was cracked open) and i seriously considered repairing it.

Everything needed is just plug and play.Remove old bolts, remove(fairing, rearset etc)install new, tighten, ready.Only thing that may take you some more time is to get the tank repaired and to bleed the front brake. If i had all the parts i could install them in about an hour.

its not that much work, fairings go on and off like nothing. The rest is just bolt on shit.

yeah, im sure it would be easy bolting on the fairings.. my headlight assembly might be good, didnt really check how it bolts on but i would have to get a new front fender to seat it in.
all of it would be pretty simple if i had $800 bucks laying around.

the bike layed down going about 15-25 im guessing. surreal feeling though. I'll have it back ready by the summer.

Ah! that sucks!

It'll cost a lot of money to make it pretty again. Don't waste too much money on it. Buy only what you absolutely need and use redneck engineering on the rest. If you want a pretty bike, you might as well upgrade to a newer one and part the 636 out....

If you think you could get $3-4K from the part out, you could get a nice 07-08 for that much or possibly for a little bit more $$$. Just depends on your patience and finances.

Hope everything works out!
