Is the BH1 2004 renowned for tankslappers

Hi Guys,
Got my lovely 2004 ZX6R last week on an 05 plate and after speaking to some bikers out there a few of them said that it is a bad bike for tank slappers.
One guy said the 03 model was very bad but they seemed to sort it out on the 04 model with softer suspension. Don't get me wrong everyone loves the bike and think it is by far the best of the ZX6r's, so I just want to know if this is true and has anyone had experience in this model slapping you down the road

yup I had a bad one last year. had bruises on my wrists from hitting the tank so hard. and has quite a few less severe ones on my 04 636 just bought a stabilizer today and hoping that helps the problem.

no dont worry the bike isnt renowned for being a slapper
ive had a b1h ...ok didnt happen to me on that bike but ive had a couple on other bikes
you can have a tank slapper on any bike just cos it might have happened to them or they know someone who knows someone that might have had one and then it escilates and before you know it the bikes have a bad name .......if you know what i mean
i think the other blokes are trying to put the willies up you mate

Like a lot of sportsbikes they can shake their head due to a steep steering angle and stiff suspension. Don't let that put you off. It is easily sorted with a steering damper. have a look on ebay. You will pay about £200 for a decent one.

There actually are not that many on there. I got lucky today and bought one off ebay for 185 usd brand new.

I've had tank slappers on several bikes so it's not just the BH1. I tank slapped on the SV650, Buell, and on my girls' '06 ZX636. Damper is the way to go.
