Just put a 1300 dollar order in for my 05 636 to get her ready for spring. With that order came new Dunlop Q2 tires.
My question is how much will the upsize to the 70 series front tire affect my rake and trail? The stock size was the shitty 170/65ZR17 Battleaxe 014's...which the only manufacturer I found that makes that size is the older Pilot Powers.
The aspect ratio of the 70 adds 5-6mm and I'm worried its going to have a negative impact on cornering. I've read alot of post about how it makes it alot slower for turn in and sluggish recovery.
Anyone with the same bike have any adverse effects? What are my options for getting the bike back into standard specs for rake and trail assuming the taller tire takes it out of spec.

What tires are you running? No rubbing issues on the front fender?

I have an 06. Same bike as yours really. I got tired of trying to run down a 65 series
front tire. So i recently put a set of The pilot power 2ct's. And i went with the 70
on the front. Being that the tires were new, i didn't notice any difference in handling.
And no rub. When my front gets some wear in it, and i feel like it's starting to steer
a little slow, i'm just going to raise my forks up in my triple clamps.
I think the difference between the 65 and 70 is like around 1/4 inch.

Thanks for the feed back. Ill see how it feels this without any adjustments, I figure if it feels worse ill just have the suspension tuned.
