For those of you in the US i hear that around where i live bikes are like 20% higher priced than anywhere else in the US...not sure if this is true...does anyone know the stats on that? was just curious if my next bike purchae i should be driving quite a ways and saving some cash.

for used bikes im figure new are about the same around the country...i live in the center of the US Joplin mo to be exact i hear if you head south you can pick up bikes a lot cheaper but was curious if anyone has looked into this...we have a crazy price swing here from winter to summer...summer you can barely find a bike to buy and its going to be outrageous but winter there are tons for sale crazy cheap...would love to have a few thousand saved up to buy in winter and sell in summer

Whenever I get to browsing my local craigslist I can say that I haven't noticed much of a price swing between winter and summer, and there are always bikes available. Usually around late fall and into the early parts of winter though (basically the start of the PNW rainy season), there seems to be a lot of people unloading bikes for the very similar reason of, "I didn't ride much and it's taking up space." Again though, prices seem to be pretty steady but this is when I would look if you feel like making a trip out this way.

i would love to open a used bike shop just need to figure out how to get the capital to start it...if i get it going then ill probably take a trailer down south and hit up some dealer auctions i think selling them here from around march/april till october you could sell the shit outta them none of the dealers can even keep used bikes in stock here...

If you have a friend with a dealers license, head to the NPA bike auction in Atlanta GA.
3rd Friday of the month. You can find all sorts of bikes, Mostly used, but some have very low miles.
