Hi Folks.
Here's an update on the adapters.
Have finished a design for the J model temp conversion, so am going to include this in a Version2 circuit board. Am actually realy pleased, its even simulated and have parts on order to test it tomorrow in real life (the temp circuitry that is). The reason for this is that J model ZX6R bikes have a different temp sensor to the 03-06 models and many J model owners want to use the adapter.

Also, Crazy1 has OK'd the design for use on the J model, so we are all set on that front.

I have been supporting another bike too, the 04/05 ZX10R can now use the adapter but with a short wiring harness to the speedo. This is still a pain to make up as it takes a ling time to build the cable assembly. Unfortunatley there is little call for this conversion so no desire to make a new PCB.

Have been spending 6 hours every evening on design work for the V2 project, so I assure you its progressing rapidly. The build is a little more compact and rugged. It also has a couple of LEDs on the board that distinguish between FI error and oil warning.

Since I don't realy have time to build each adapter the V2 model will be commercially sourced. For this reason I will need to calculate the cost of manufacture and reflect this in the sale price. However should be very similar to the current target of $55 per unit, given sufficient volume (say 100 manufactured). Remember this is a Kawiforums inspired project for members of that (and this) forum. As such we want to keep it affordable to all.

The new adapters will be available in a months time. I'll post pictures when I get the first samples.

Im interested in this in my next years rebuild but for the mean time seen as all you B riders are doing away with your old dials anyone mind donating one to me so I can have some digital glory on my J1

Love this mod and will scour the web and breakers beginning of next year to do this mod.

What an awesome product!! I'm so glad I found this thread, I was just thinking about getting a Speedo DRD/Healer for my -1F gearing.

Right, just need to find myself the newer clocks and I'll be ordering one from you.

*perk* can you describe this in a bit more detail? It sounds like you've got a mechanism to take a newer gauge, and arbitrarily "load" mileage onto it so as to match up to, presumably, an older gauge that has higher mileage than the new gauge.. I'm only guessing, though?

I have an updated program app and hex file. The only new function is the ability to set speed to maximum while stationary.
This lets odo digits roll over without riding the bike. It can only be used to increase odo count. Max gauge speed is 189mph so it adds 189miles to odo per hour while parked with ignition on.
You have to reprogram adapter back to normal when finished.
PM me if you want to test this release.

Two questions:
How can I get one?
Would you be open to sharing some info to get a linux driver for it?

@ey3: Yes I think we could do a trade - some code porting for an adapter?

I have a question, what kind of work is required to mount a 2007 and up gauge cluster to a 2006 ZX-6R? I have been reading this thread over and don't see any details on how to do this. The back of the 2007 and newer gauges seem to have wider set of mounting holes that will be an issue to address. That is the only thing keeping me from buying this adapter as I would love to have newer gauges. This question is really directed to guys who have done this mode, not to Tim.

Thanks

Just so I can be perfectly clear:

If I've already got an 07 gauge cluster I buy your adapter, do some quick computer stuff, then install and it's ready to go?

Will the FI/Fuel light still be functional?

Is there any real difference in V1 and V2 if I don't care about the speedo healing and obviously wouldn't have the coolant temp sensor issue?
