New ZX-6R for 2013?

So does anyone know if there will be a new ZX-6R for 2013? The current model is a great bike but has been around for 4 years now.. I bet Kawi will put out a brand new bike next year but haven't heard anything, not even rumors.

Being that Kawi has been leading the pack as far as sales goes in this down economy it's pretty likely that we'll see a re-designed ZX6R. It might not have a different motor than the '09-'12 bike, but there could be a new rear suspension/swingarm setup (maybe) since the Kawi still has the best forks of all 4 Japanese brands.

My guess is you'll see all new fairings that are similar to the new ZX10R. If you remember the '08-'11 ZX10R's... that's where the styling for the 6R came from.

I've yet to hear anything from my end though from Kawi. IF there will be a redesign you'll probably hear about it by the end of Summer and closer to the Motorcycle show season where they'll do the product launches.

I'm pretty sure that it will look like the new ZX-10R, usually Japanese manufacturer's 600's follow the 1000's in terms of styling. The bike doesn't need a complete redesign, I would say leave the engine as it is but I would expect a new chassis, and new styling.
The interesting thing is until very recently Japanese sportbikes were all on a two year cycle that meant a brand new design every two years. When the economy slowed the cycles went to 3 and even 4 years, as the current ZX-6R is on. But with bikes like the Triumph 675 and the new MV Agusta 675 coming out, the Japs better get their act together and come out with some exiting new designs or risk losing sales. This is why I am certain there will be a new ZX-6R next year.

I sincerely hope this doesn't happen until '14...I'm literally less than 2 weeks from buying a 2012 and I will literally be skinned alive if I buy one and then trade it in a year...lol

Would that be Sport Cycles? I've been in contact with Romney cycles in WVa and he is quoting >$9200 OTD...
