I came in on a few weekends and designed a completely custom harness for my track bike. I actually had the kit on my track bike before I ever brought the 05-06 in to make a kit for it as well. The harness I used on my track bike is a little different than one I would design for a street bike; it draws power from a different source and the control unit is located under the tank instead of in the tail. So I need to slightly redesign the harness to make a retail kit. Unfortunately my boss doesn't want me spending company time on an application for a bike that is 10 years old because he doesn't think we'll sell enough units to make it worth it. So I need to get in here on my spare time and get the harness redesigned. The kit from the 05-06 could work on an 03-4, with some modification, and I would have to have a stock B model to see what needed changed on that kit.

Oh if I need one I can get MoM's. At this point I just need to make a harness design that is longer than mine and draws power off the tail light.

ok it took about 2 hours but i got the bazzaz installed. its the first one i have ever put on and the pictures on the bazzaz website had to be an older zx6r than an 2009. the only red and blue wire i would find was to the tail light so thats where my power is coming from. and the crank pos. sensor i hooked into the only 4pin connector with a blak and yellow wire. it lights up and ive rode it for about 15 miles seems to run fine. but if i hooked it up wrong would i get an fi light? just wana make sure i didnt mess up, thanks

Where did you put the unit, in the tail? There aren't a whole lot of power options back there, though you have a few up in the front; one in the relay box, and one in the fuse box. You could try getting power from the exhaust servo motor, but I've never tried that before, so I don't know how well that would work.
The pictures are from the 07-08 model, I'm not sure why we didn't make a new set of instructions for the 09, even though we use the same exact kit for both models.

You guys are just going to have to be patient. And count your lucky stars that I work here, or this would never happen

Can I have one for free?

jk...seriously though, i know this is kind of not directly geared towards the bazzaz, but kinda is...when taking to a tuning shop, whats the best way to tell if the tuner actually knows his way around the bazzaz interface? I'm planning on getting one within the next year or so and I really don't wanna get dicked over by a moron...

Idk, some tuners are really good at sounding like they know what they're doing when they really don't know shit. The first warning sign is if they ask you if it's compatible with Dynojet's Tuning Link software, just walk away. A lot of those guys who tune with Tuning Link only know how to hit start and stop, and let the software do everything else. Our software is incredibly easy to use, easier than Dynojet's, so any tuner who is able to build a custom map on a PC manually can use our stuff no problem. Just start asking them how they go about their tuning process and you should be able to get a feel for whether they're full of shit or not.

Oh and another warning sign, if they give you a dyno print out that maps by wheel speed instead of RPM.

You'll need to get a different shift switch, our shift switches only activate in one direction, and when you swap the linkage around you have to change the switch as well.

Sooo I had a random thought, If I got say... 50-100 forum members to call your shop and ask about one for a 03-04, do you think your boss would agree there is enough interest?

I think if you got 20 members to officially call and ask about the kit, that would do the trick. But be sure to talk to sales, and not tech support, because he may not believe me if I start saying I'm getting a ton of calls about that model.

ZFi fuel maps

I am going to purchase a ZFi, jardine RT-1 slip and a K&N air filter for my 2006 zx6r. Do I need to purchase the self mapping kit also? Or can I tune this thing my self? I notice on the Bazzaz web site they have a map for a slip on exhaust, but with the k&N air filter will I need to make any major adjustments to the fuel map?
