White LED's for 2013 636?

Hey guys,

I just picked up my new 636 Tuesday and I want to swap out the Headlights and Running lights with white LEDs, I'm a noob when it comes to lighting in any form or fashion, can someone help me out with bulb size/where to buy them?

Thank you!

DDM sucks. I have their HIDs for my bike and my GTO and neither works great.

Unless their LEDs are of far better quality than their HIDs .... avoid.

Smile This is a Possible Option!!!

Hey Man Sylvania has a pair of 6000k 198 LED's That plug right in. Just so you know. Also if you wait a few extra Months VLeds.com has a new 5000k H7 LED kit coming out that will produce 3000 Lumins of light over the Previous 2000 Lumins kit which is still VERY bright! hey if you decide to got for let me know how the install process is. I'm very temped to do it but I'm really a little Nervous to try it. I'm a believer of the product. Just not ready to take the plunge without having some one else vouch if the system is plug and play. I really dont want to cut wires.

Thread Revival

Hey guys, I am trying to kind of revive this topic with some questions. I found it through google and have seen discussions on this site several times through searches. Since I can't quite figure out some headlight upgrade questions I currently have I figured I would sign up and post.

Main things I am going for:
1. Symmetrical Headlights: I really want both headlight enclosures to have low/high beams instead of each only having one or the other.
2. Overall better/brighter headlights

My bike is a 2013 zx6r

Main things I have found when searching around are either
1. Simple bulb replacement
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=AI8A31CFKBZTU

2. Complete headlight assembly replacement/update
To Kawasaki Headlight Assembly Ninja ZX 6R 2013 2015 55W LED Angel HID Demon Eye | eBay

I am kind of leaning towards a simple bulb replacement because option 2 is pretty expensive.

My question is, back to my first desire if I replace the OEM bulbs with some updated LED bulbs, is it possible to automatically get low/high beams for both sides? Or do i have to make wiring changes as well?

Does the OEM high beam switch just simply turn on power to the high beam? Or does it increase the power enough that the high beam can finally illuminate?

Also out of curiosity has anyone purchased an upgraded headlight assembly? What are your feelings on the product/installation?

Thanks for your time.

1.For both low/high you have to do a retrofit, open your headlight and switch the projectors with others that offer both low/high and a hid kit for each of them.Too expensive? Don't do it.

2. Try no.1^ or just use a hid kit for one of your headlights, the "low" one.

the low beam never turns off, so the lighting is 'symmetrical' when you are on High beam. Power is only applied to the high beam bulb when you select it.

The light patterns are different, because the low beam enclosure has a built in cut off which will not change regardless of the installed bulb. (HID, LED, or Halogen)

The high side has no cut off in the projector. if the high side bulb is replaced with one that has a cut off in the bulb, it could be used to produce a pattern similar to the low beam.

"There's this adage that we have 2 ears and one mouth so we should listen twice as much as we talk. Unfortunately with the Internet people have taken this old adage and turned it around. They have two eyes and 10 fingers so they think they need to post 5 times as much as they read. And since they have 10 fingers and one brain, they only have to think 10% of the time! "

Sry to hijack this thread but its on the same topic and I have read that LED's in the projector headlights of the 2013+ would be no benefit. Is this true as I'm interested in replacing mine to LED's for better lighting but don't want to waste time and money if it doesn't improve anything.
