I just looked at the price on those, holy crap. I've spent a lot of money on my bike, but I don't know if I could justify that.

My wife has an AirHawk inflatable on her seat (SV 650), which she likes quite a bit. It makes the seat softer. Works for her, might be worth checking out.

She and I did a four day three night trip and we were both just fine. You might want to do a warm-up ride where you do at least 200 miles in each direction. Get your rear used to it. I think it's not so much the seat as what you are used to.

Sounds like a really fantastic trip that you have planned. Take a few photos and write up a nice trip report when you are done.

I am going to the dealership this morning to compare the part numbers of the 12 & 13 seats... my guess is that if the part numbers are the same = same seats
Also going to call corbin again. Will post findings later

Lance22me: I have many miles on the seat but recently dropped 35 lbs and have no butt left ...lol.
Will take plenty of pictures and post here.

Sandmanss: Yeah $235 is a lot but for comfort over the lifetime of this ride its gotta be worth it.
Corbin also makes a truly one off hand made custom seat for $500 too.

Well, when I just called the guy I spoke to (Jarod) didn't know anything about the 2012 fitting the 2013. He did say, that if you can come in for the custom fitting service they can make one for you though. So I'm gonna do that.

Yeah, I just called and they said: if the 12 fits then its approx $250 if it does not fit then they will make a custom from scratch for approx $500, I am off to the dealership to check part numbers and frame measurments

Considering just about everything is the same on the 13, frame, subframe, swingarm, tank etc, I'm gonna bet dollars to donuts that they are the same..

I get that you want a new seat, but I just don't really find the stock one uncomfortable really. Your making around a $60(for gas) trip from SF-tahoe-yosemite into a $300+ trip because of a seat.

2012 Seat Assembly P/N: 53066A

2013 Seat Assembly P/N: 53066A

i.e. both seats are the same.

/thread

Sort of helpful tip though.. go to pretty much any dealer website and look up the oem part number and compare. Kawi does not change part numbers. If it's the same you're good to go. I use: OEM motorcycle parts & atv parts at NCHM

If its you, can you let me know how the fitting goes as I am scheduled on the 10th and will cancel if yours does not fit.

Thanks
