I'm sure I am in the minority but I just don't understand carbon fiber covers. Isn't the point of carbon fiber to make a part / bike lighter? How does adding carbon fiber on top of a part accomplish this? Don't get me wrong, it looks nice it just seems to be defeating the purpose.
I'll weigh in here as I'm big fan of carbon fiber. I just want to add that carbon fiber covers are lighter and more durable in a crash than plastic covers and in the example of bg case covers I think the extra protection is worth the difference in price.
Here are some pics of my bike, I have some carbon fiber covers as well as some actual parts in carbon fiber.
Carbon fiber subframe
Carbon fiber clip on tubes
Also Fren Tubo carbon fiber brake lines, tank sliders, heel guards etc
I still have a few things on the list like front fender, gas cap, faring stay, race bodywork and a few more covers but the carbon fiber quest never ends now that places like CarbonDryJapan.com
can cover just about anything in carbon fiber.
I know this is an old thread, but where did you get those carbon fiber bolts?
