Putting neons/LEDs under/on my bike. Advice

Im wanting to put some lights on and under my bike. A friend put some green LEDs under his undertail and bottom of the bike. It was a green ZX-9, stretched and lowered with green lights. It looked bad ass at night. I want to put some on and under mine but im not sure of what color to put on it. I was thinking yellow but i think yellow lights are illegal on cars because yellow is the color for caution and tow trucks, etc. I was also thinking Blacklight purple cause my bike is yellow and deep purple (which most people mistake for black until they get up really close.) What do you say?

Personally I have mixed feelings about LED accents on bikes. I kind of like the way they look. But... I dunno. Just doesn't seem right on a bike unless you just like pimpin'. But since your bike is primarily yellow I'd say blue!

Go for it Bro.
Make that bike all yours.

Id check out the blacklight purple ones.
If it were me...
Id get single LEDs and group them together.
It is a lot cheaper and if ya dont like em, it was not that much cash wasted.
Plus, you can lay em out to shine where ya want.
Hot glue or silicone em, wire em together and you got a LED cluster of your own making.
On the flat side of them put some velcro or two sided tape and stick away.

Good luck Bro.

Oh, This place has got some cool stuff.

i agree that blue would look alright.
There are a hundred places to put lights on the bike where the globes are not visable too.. (if that's a legal problem where you are, he in Vic-Aust it is)
I've got 14 on mine at the moment all joined up to one main switch on the 'dash'.
My suggestion, get individual LED's, and spend a bit of time one night with one connected to a battery while placing it in different spots to see what gives off the best effect with the least effort.
One last bit of advise though, if you place any on fairings that may need to be removed for servicing, cut the wire and crimp on a couple of joiners so that you can just unplug them to remove fairing.

Does any of you have pictures of your bikes with the Led lights on?
I installed two pods under the tail of my bike and ordered a good kit to do the rest of the bike. I figured on putting the long strips under the bike, then placing the pods in the faring above the radiator, inside my engine compartment somewhereon each side, and inside the the front fender sides to accent the front wheel and on the rear swingarm to accent the back wheel.
I would just like to see what other folks have done to get a better ideas
Thanks

IMO I think they look good on SHOW bikes but not street bikes.......

Plus im not 100% sure on your laws in Georgia but I know for a fact that here in Michigan they are definately illegal to have, doesnt matter what color

Thanks BJ, Those look sweet!!
How did you get them inside the Ram Air duct?

The dealership called today and my lights came in, so I guess I'll pick them up tomorrow after work. Can't wait to get them on it.
I figured they were probably illegal in most states. I was told that Blue is the one we get in trouble for in NC.
I think its a bunch of BS to give a guy a ticket for them, they make you more visible at night to other drivers so why not allow them?

in Indiana i know of a bunch of friends who got tickets for blue LED's on their cars. i have seen many cops at night when i have my blue LED's on my bike on... and even followed by them with them on and never once have they said a word. it is very noticable yet they dont seem to mind...

The one inside the Ram Air duct was the hardest, but the one i like the best. If looks great cos of the curves in the plastic
It's stuck on the top panel, just on the outside in front of the grill. Wire is running just past the grill and coming out through the rubber seal.

I agree having the lights makes me more visible at night.
I've only ever been pulled over once by the cops. He said it was for a random license check and breatho, then he admitted he just wanted to check out my neons to get ideas for his own bike

They're not illegal down here unless the flash, or if the actual light/globe can be seen. Hence it taking me about 4 hours to set them all up. 14 LED's on a bike without being able to see any of them, but still get good illumination?? Tricky, but very doable
