replacement is really easy. take the tank off.to have better access to it you might want to take the throttle bodies off. the cct will be almost directly under the throttle bodies (alittle ways down) on the rear, right side of the engine. there's gona be two little bolts - top and bottom - you need to take these off and the cct comes out. the middle big bolt is for adjustment of cct (no need to unscrew this). once the two little bolts are out you can pull the cct out and replace.

you can see what im talking about in the pic (its the little oval thing on the top right) (its pulled out).

this informations is for my bike (01 6r) but im sure is has to be similar (if not the same) for your bike

When re-installing / fitting a new one, you will have to remove the bolt in the middle. It's in the manual page 5-14.

(I don't want to seem like an arse, but if you're asking how to swap a stocker, how are you going to adjust a manual one properly?)

what goes into adjusting the manual one? i read that you just screw in till you feel pressure start biek let it warm up with hand on bolt (so's not to back out) then adjust slowly till hear no tinging.....is that right

I don't know I always have relied on the spring in the auto adjusters to do the job properly for me.

just for clearification purposes, what year cct is a manual and which is auto? is my 01 an automatic? because if it is, why would you need a bolt in the middle to adjust it? it has to be manual, right?
