Just got a used Akrapovic slip-on, what to do with servo wires to exhaust?

So I just got this off CL: Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust Kawasaki ZX6R / ZX636 2009-2016 - RevZilla

It only came with the pipe and a clamp, what do I do with the servo wires that go from under the seat to the stock exhaust? Do those wires go to a segment of the exhaust that I leave on?

Also, do I need one of those graphite gaskets the instructions are talking about?

I'm on a 2015 636...

any help would be appreciated! thanks!

The cables that were on the stock exhaust can be removed, but leave the small motor plugged in under the seat. You can remove it later once you get a servo buddy or flash your ECU. The graphite gasket should be on your stock exhaust and just reuse it for the slip-on. Good luck

is it hard to remove the cables? they're routed from under the seat to the exhaust? Also, will my FI light come on if I do this?

even if you take the cables out the light will not come on. all the servo is doing is opening and closing related to throttle or warm up or bla bla bla. it has no idea nothing is attached or not. i keep it simple and just zipped em there.

Oh, the stuff I say.

For 2013-2016 you just need to remove cables and go. No lights on the dash will pop up, and no servo buddy or anything else is required.

but won't the servo motor just keep spinning?

is it hard to remove the cables? aren't they re-routed through the under-seat of the bike?

The servo only moves when it needs to.

Disconnect the cables at the servo as well. U can either leave em on the bike or remove them completely. Shouldnt be too difficult.

Interesting thread for me. My Yoshi slip on came with a plate to mount to the servo so that it would be impossible for it to move past its normal range of motion. So I am hearing that is not needed? I guess it is no matter to me, I removed the servo and the cables an installed a healtech servo eliminator.

I will say that it is very easy to remove the cables if you don't want them on there. Yes, the seat needs to be removed to do so.

I have the full carbon version of this exhaust. If it is the same, then the stock gasket WILL NOT work. As the diameter of the Akro is thicker at the mid muffler end. It comes with a replacement Gasket. just use some pliers to pull the old one out. you WILL fuck it but this is ok. Push the new one in, It will be tight but thats good. Then put on the slip on.

Pulo,

Oh good that you chimed in, was about to start the job and I don't have the Akro gasket since I bought the exhaust used. I too have the full carbon version, do you have a pic of the gasket? I guess I'm going to have to go to Akra and get a gasket. Thanks for the tip
Also, you have a 2013+ I'm assuming?
