Link pipe installation was as easy as removing the can and prechamber then placing the link pipe and can back on. Torque the link pipe bolt to 25ft-lb, the clamps to 15ft-lb and the can mount nut to 15ft-lb. The black widow link pipe included a graphite gasket needed for install, stickers and a cool lanyard.

As for the sound. . . I'm glad to say that it was an improvement. It creates a minimally louder, growling tone. I couldn't get decent sound quality in video but like I said it sounds better than the stock tin rattle.

As I previously stated, the only reason I installed this is for access to the rear shock height adjustment but the added benefit of weight loss was noticeable

Looks good! My only concern was that it would be too loud or reduce low end torque too much. I assume it's no where near the sound level of a slip on right? Any test rides to confirm the torque feeling?

Butt-dyno didn't notice a difference in power.

It is a couple of decibels louder (when measured from phone, which is not accurate or calibrated), but not obnoxious. I would say it now sounds like the stock s1000rr exhaust which is loud for stock but not unpleasant.

Ah man, I just found one that IXIL makes one too and at a better price. 67.95$ with free shipping.

But I am pretty happy with the black widow link pipe

I would do it but I haven't been able to get a good recording with my phone. I'll try again later.

It honestly does sound like the stock s1000rr exhaust with the link pipe on.

Would you say it's worth getting the link pipe with stock exhaust?

Only if you want to get rid of the prechamber weight or not have to take the wheel off for access to the shock. Otherwise I would have left it on.

Anyone know if the black widow link pipe will fit the Akrapovic can that the performance model comes with

I only ask as there is a £100 odd difference in price

I tryed to stay under but I thought I'd opt for a hard break in and went up to 6500rpm after about 10 miles. Once I'd done 500 I dropped oil and then went up to 9500rpm until 1000 miles. Worked alright and engine seems to be powerful and responsive. But if you stick to the Kawasaki way there's no drama as they no best. I just thought as I decided to run my old Toyota starlet in hard and my friend run his pretty much identical starlet in nicely and mine ended up with 12 more hp I'd try it with the bike. Inno there could be a billion variables that caused my extra power but I like to think it was the hard run in. Mine was actually running less hp than his previous to the forge builds.

According to scorpion exhaust, the OEM prechamber and exhaust have measured 91.7 db @ 6750 rpm. I don't have an accurate Db reader but I'll try to get a reading with the link pipe . . or someone else can
