Well gents it's officially now a track bike rebuild thread.
Had a great day Saturday granted it rained all day the tires were brand new and my pads weren't bedded yet but it help me keep it slow. Had a great time learning lightning. Super fun a little went and had a smile all day.
Cold cold cold. First session was freezing took it incredibly easy. Warmed up throughout the day and had some one on one time with the coaches. A constant theme throughout the day was I was too fast into the turns causing me to run wide. So I began to brake super early about half way between corners... Oh well. Slow and steady. And worked o n my lines. As long as I had a tow it was fine.
Second to last session. It happened. It was the perfect storm. Was feeling sick from lunch, I had to piss, and I was feeling confident. 2 or 3 laps in I decided to brake a little later coming down the front strait... big mistake took the turn hot and leaned the bike over. Everyone who saw it said it was a good turn clean and I hit the apex no problem. I however did not think that. I thought oh shit I'm leaned over way too far I'm gonna fall off this thing... So I gave it gas to stand the bike up. .. mid turn and choppy throttle. No a good combination. So I low sided watched my bike slide into the grass and then I was airborn. The whole this was crazy.
Well... I'm ok, got a bruised hip and stiff neck. My helmet is fine, suit took some of the rash but is still whole, boots are Good, but both gloves ripped in the fingers. Need to get that repaired.
All the bike needs is a new tube for my right clip on and a new rear right foot peg. Tearing it down for friday going back... track life!
