I am trying to buy a 2011 ZX6R and have two options.
First Deal(Blue): Price is $5,000.
4,200 miles on it.
It has some scratch as you can see in the picture.
Only thing after market parts is the Two brothers aftermarket exhaust.
Second Deal: $6,200
2,100 Miles on it.
Only thing after market seems to be the exhaust.
Which one will be a better deal? Want to spend less so.....
Would ya let me know?
The graphics package on the second bike does not look like it's the OEM design.... that would make me think it has after market fairings. The blue bike has some scratches; they're not terribly significant other than making the bike less attractive. Mine has similar marks after I dropped it at about 10 MPH. Not bad enough to spend the money on new fairings, IMHO -- but I'm out there to ride and couldn't care less about impressing anyone else.
After market fairings are typically bought due to an accident that was serious enough to damage the OEM plastics to the point where they had to be replaced. Or, someone was so OCD that they couldn't stand a few scratches.
The other scenario for non OEM plastics is for a track bike which may be coming back to the street -- this would be more common, than the OCD scenario.
Either way, were it me and I had the choice of the two I would lean towards the one that is closer to stock. The mileage isn't really a concern as neither is anywhere near a major service point.
The biggest factor in the decision should be the mechanical condition of the bike. Seals, sprockets, chain, tires, suspension, obvious frame damage, rough running, excessive mechanical noise while running..... smoking, etc. Condition of brakes and brake fluid it near the top of the list.
If this is a bike you intend to ride, the less you have to spend to keep it on the road means that you can ride it that much more.

"There's this adage that we have 2 ears and one mouth so we should listen twice as much as we talk. Unfortunately with the Internet people have taken this old adage and turned it around. They have two eyes and 10 fingers so they think they need to post 5 times as much as they read. And since they have 10 fingers and one brain, they only have to think 10% of the time! "
