Yes, and that part is easy however that really wont make it widely available to a search engine or any other method of locating podcasts.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and 30 mins a week is enough. Many start out that way and grow much longer each week. Just see how it goes. Much less frequent and you will struggle to retain listeners though.

If you're worried about talking that much yourself get someone to help. My favourite shows follow one of two formats; host and guest each week or three hosts permanently. This allows you to pass the mic or bounce off others for inspiration.

It can seem daunting but material will come to you if you're open to feedback and follow up. You can also plan and aim to do say 10 episodes and call it a season. If you get extra ideas then extend by a few episodes or save them for a season two if you get enough material.

There isn't much required really. Sponsors will help with any costs (website for show notes with links to what you've talked about), hosting etc. Just try to keep the recording quality up.

Distribution has many options but I've heard good things about Libsyn. Worth a look.

I also listen to the Ken Hill podcasts and enjoy them. As for feedback:

I would likely do a weekly 30 minute podcast. Is this frequent enough to retain interest? I personally think yes but depends on your content. Is it a series or a different topic each week. I think the more... narrow and specific each episode the more interest there would be. Really get into the meat and potatoes of very specific things. I personally listen to podcast on Pandora and the Serial podcast specifically. Each week I would listen to an episode while driving into work. It was awesome. I would probably look at this from a more abstract view. Not just tips and lessons of racing, but a look into the life of a dedicated racer, the lifestyle, how its done etc etc. Also learning how not to eat shit around corners will be a big draw.

EDIT: Oh yeah...... OFF THE BARS OFF THE BARS

I am worried that it would quickly become boring to listen to. I am not much of a radio personality
I worry that I would not have enough material to repeatedly fill a 30 minute podcast.

Same as my answer above. I personally think the material is endless as you could always talk about future products coming out etc if you run out of other things but I cant see that happening. As far as the boring thing... well thats just plain bullshit doubt getting the best of you. I read your stuff because I want to learn and you are credible. Not because you are exciting to look at. Youre a dude and that shit is whack. The same would go with your podcast.

I know how to record audio and do post processing. Is there more to it than that?

Cant be any harder than that and actually uploading the file. Think youtube. Insert file and upload.

Once I have a podcast, how do I distribute it? How do I make people aware that it is out there and available? I would imagine the same way you do it with everything else. Facebook and forum distribution, links on websites and it will go from there. I will share, like, follow, whatever the shit out of it as I'm sure most on here would. Just my 2 cents, worth about 1.

Sent you a PM with Lloyds contact information.

here are a couple of sites I found.
This one is pretty good.

Web side, How to Podcast
if you do get a domain, make sure you either get multiple years or pay close attention to renewal. Many pirates will buy the domain as soon as it becomes free and extort a high fee to get it back.
My daughter lost her's and they want several grand to get it back.

tbh, khills podcast was what I was leaning and directing towards when I suggested you start a series too.

podcasts are meant to be a streaming content, you can download them for later though
