05 Blown engine

I just bought a track day bike from craigs list and the engine blew at my first track day. Does anyone know if it is possible to put a engine from a 2011 zx6r into my bike. Or maybe somewhere besides ebay to purchase an engine that will fit. Any help or advice would be welcome.

No, the 03-06 line of 599 and 636s will fit but the future generations wont.

First welcome to the forum.

Second, congratulations on doing a track day and WOW it really suck's about the bike.

Depending on what you paid for it, look at the parted out price vs replacing the engine.
There are a couple on eBay. DO a compression check and the valve's clearance's before putting it in the bike.

Thank you. I started track days on my 2011 Z-1000 last year and its a great bike just not made for track days. I bought this zx6r that was set up as a track only bike. I gave to much for it so I may have to just cut my losses and find another bike. The engines I have found on e-bay worry me. I can go back to my Z-1000 for this season.

Thank you that is what I am leaning towards. If I don't find a good replacement.
