Hi,

New rider, as such I am spending every minute I can on my ZX6R with a big grin.
Today I have noticed flat spots on my tyres, looked at review but tyres/tires seem a nightmare.
Essentially would love to hear about tyres that have a good balance for a new rider that isnt going to try to be Marquez and that can give a very good mileage.

Michelin Pilot seems to get mentioned, but the reviews seem a few years old.

Many thanks

Best everyday road tire i have found so far, with great tread, hardened middle, and year round ready is the Pilot Road 4 by michilen. Ive owned the pilot power 2,3 and the battleaxe by bridgestone. all great tires but only last 5k miles or so, depending on psi in the tire and roads. the Road 4's are 8-10k mileage

The Pilot Road series are quite good as jaxzx6r said. I opted for the Pilot Road 2CT on my old bike and am currently on Bridgestone T30, another dual compound sport/sport-touring tire. They've given me great mileage so far and are about to hit a trackday tomorrow! I've liked both tires and I think are both reasonably budget friendly. I think there's a rebate on Bridgestones or something posted somewhere on the forum. Might want to take advantage of that.

I'm running Dunlop Q3's right now and love them! Wear appears better than the stock S20R's so far but only have about 3k miles on them so far. Probably not the best wearing tires out there but very good for the price.

I'm on Pirelli Angel GT,second set.Excellent all round road tyre.I've run them at standard pressures, perfect. As in,2.5/36 front,2.8/41 rear, lovely steering, great water clearance.Dropped pressures to 2.3/33 front,2.5/36 rear, and as much grip as anyone needs on the road, and if it buckets down you will be amazed at the grip.I remember a quote from the late Steve Hislop,at a trackday, passing everyone with ease on sport touring tyres-"I wouldn't need too much tyre on a trackday".
Pirelli employee recommended 34 front 38 rear for sports bikes.
Keep having fun on your ZX6R,mine is 14 years old now and going strong!.
P.s-these tyres last about three times as long as the Diablo Rosso 2,another great tyre, but if you are budget conscious.........
